Welcome to our non profit page. We profile a selective non profit organizations here for free. If you have, or are involved in a ministry in the United States or in Sierra Leone, an alumni association of any Sierra Leonean School, or community development, we would be delighted to profile your organization. Our objective is for us to serve as a junction or center for all Sierra Leoneans to meet, interact and get involved in nation building. This week, we profile a non profit organization that is based in Colorado. We hope you will be excited and would like to be a part of this young organization.
REBUILD SIERRA LEONE
Rebuild Sierra Leone is a new non profit organization that seeks to encourage all Sierra Leoneans and wellwishers to cultivate a heart for the rebuilding of our beloved country. The organization is in its inception stages and has just registered with the IRS and the state of Colorado. It is now fully established and recognised as a non profit entity. They are now in the process of putting together a Board of Directors to oversee the organizations activities.
The organization sponsors music concerts dubbed as Growing a Heart for Sierra Leone in various Churches throughout the Denver-metro area. Previous locations were hosted by Arvada Covenant Church (Nevember 2005) and Bear Valley Church (June 2006). The upcoming concert will be held at Colorado Community Church (Aurora Campus - November 16th 2007).
The Mission: To Encourage, Support and Empower the Body of Christ in Sierra Leone.
Relief Efforts: Rebuild Sierra Leone will use financial resources as they become available to send school supplies, medicine, food, clothing, and care packages for young mothers. The next shipment is planned for May 2008.
Short Term Missions: Rebuild Sierra Leone coordinates short missions trips to Sierra leone. Next year's goal is to take a music team that will hold concerts, worship seminars, and eveangelistic meetings in October 2008.
Long-Term Goal: Micro lending and medical missions. Archieving this goal will take the collective efforts of as many Sierra Leoneans as possible. This can happen if the people of God will come together to empower our nation to be self reliant.
Our Dream:To acquire a medical ship to serve the people of Sierra Leone. If you think this is beyond our reach because of the potential millions of dollars that this might involve, we couldn't agree with you more. But we serve a God who is bigger than all of the world's dreams put together. Faith is not just believing that God can, but that God will. We urge you to get involved, believe and pray with us.
Financial Needs: Our current financial needs are in relation to our planned shipment for May next year. As of September last year when we made our last shipment, it was $6, 200.00 to ship a 40ft container from Colorado, and $275.00 to ship 40-gallon barrel.
In September last year, our resources allowed us to ship only six barrels of school supplies and clothing. These items benefited Good News Assembly of God and Christians In action Churches in Freetown. We would like to ship a 40ft cargo container next year so that a lot more pastors and churches will be blessed by the benevolence of the bretheren in North America.
Financial Donations: Financial donations are used for school supplies, shipping costs, care packages, and music team expenses. Now that we are officially rcognised as a non profit organization, donors can obtain receipts for their donations so that they can include those receipts when filing their taxes.

A Sierra Leonean proverb says that if someone is rubbing your back, you rub your own belly yourself. That is to say we can only ask so much of our North American friends. This is by no means implying that our American friends are growing weary of us. But the fact is that there comes a time when we will have to quit looking up to them and depending on them to help us. We must try to stand on our own two legs, and let any help they render us be an added bonus. Wouldn't you agree? We are pretty sure you do!
